— ♦ — J CITY. Yesterday's polling in the City resulted in tbo ro.eloction of three out of the four 1 retiring; members, namely, Messrs. Willeston (Lamb ton), Barber (To Aro), and Fraaer 1 (Cook), Mr. Levoi suffering defeat at Thorndon. Tho numbers polled in the different wards were as follows :—: — THOBNDON WABD. J. Myers 311 T. At the eleotion of Councillors there was an unusually largo poll. Messrs. D. P. Loasby, C. J. Tally, and F. H. Wood were eleoted. Mastxrtoh, Tuts Dat. j Messrs. J. Yates, C. Hughes, and T. Wagg were elected to the Masterton Borough Counoil yesterday. "UNITED FRISB ABBOCIATION.I -i Dunedin, 13th September. J The contest in two wards of the city excited considerable interest. Counoillor M'Gregor defeated Mr. A. H. Burton by a majority of 134 for High Ward. Mr. A. Morrison was elected for Bell Ward, polling „ 165 more than Mr. A. S. Adams. a Auckland, 13th September. At the mnnioipal election* Mrs. Matson was returned for the Borough of Paxne'l by a majority of 90. For the Grafton Ward of the oity Mr. W. B.
