HARRIERS' CLUB.
The seoond anuual meeting of the Wellington Harriers' Club was held at the Occidental Hotol last night. Mr. C. D. Morpeth (Captain) presidod. Tho report of the Secretary (Mr. G. B. Nioholls) congratulated tho club on its successful season; and the Treasurer's (Mr. W. E. Hughes) balance-Bheet showed a surplus of £7 14s lOd after paying all expenses. The sports had been successfully carried out, and the wcokly runs had been fairly well attended. C. D. Morpeth carried off the prize for the largest number of points scored, and special mention woe made of his great services in helping the club along. H. Palmer was a good second, and his regular attendance was an example to other membors. The Mile Koad-raco was won in tho creditable timo of 4min 4-sth sec, by Mr. D. M'Kay, Mr. C. Palmer scoring second honours. The Fivo-mile Championship, at the Hutt, was an excellent contest between Messrs. H. Palmer and Hawthorne, the former winning by a few yards. Members also did well in outs<do sports, tho bulk of tho long-distance ovonts falling to the club, 'lho Secretary predicted that tha ensuing season would bo even more successful than last. The report and balnnce-shoct were adopted. Tho tlection of officers resulted as follows : —President, Mr. H. D. Bell (reelected) ; Vice • Presidents, Messrs. J. P. Maxwell, C. P. Skerrett, C. W. Benbow, J. W. Abbott, G. F. C. Campbell (ro-electod), and A. do B. Brandon ; captain, Mr. C. D. Morpoth (re-eleoted, Messrs. C Cooper and G. B. Nioholls speaking in eulogistic terms of the services rondered to the club by Mr. Morpeth); Vice -Captain, Mr. H. Palmer (roolocted) ; Hon. Secretary, Mr. G. B. NicholL (re-elected, with thanks for his services in tho pa6t) ; Hon. Treasurer, Mr. W. E. Hughes (ro-olected) ; General Committee, Captaiu, Vice-Captain, Sccr.-tary, and Treasnrer (ex officio), Messrs. S. P. Hawthorne, D. M'Kay, C. J. Cooper, C. W. Palmer (reelected), and W. Scult ; Auditors, Messrs. E. W. Smytho and C. Tringham (re-elected). Tha committee reconimonded that a deputation from the Harriers' and Cyoling Clubs jointly wait upon the Cricket Association as to a suitablo date tor holding tho clubs' sports. This was agreed to. It was decided to leavo the question of opening the reason in tho hands of the committee. A vote of thanks to the retiring officers and to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
