Tho proposal was withdrawn on the Premier promising to consider the question, and consult the Commissioners. Mr. G. W. Russell moved a new clause to provide for classification of the service. In reply to Mr. G. W. Ruasoll, the Premier promised to bring down a clauso to-morrow containing a scheme for classification of the Railway Service if ho found Buch a scheme practicable. On this assurance, Mr. Russell withdrew his proposal. Tho Bill was then reported with amendments, which wore ordered to be considered to-day. CRIMINAL CODE ACT AMENDMENT. Tho Premier moved the pecond reading of tho Criminal Code Act Amendment Bill, to raise the age of consont to 10 years, which was agroed to without dobate. SCHOOL ATTENDANCE BILL. The Promier (in tho temporary absence of tho of Education) movod the second reading of the School Attendance Bill, making more sttingent proviiions for tho compulsory attendance of children at Bchool. After a short debate, tho second reading was agrood to on the voices. Tho Houso rose at 12 20 p.m.
