San Fbancisco, 23rd September. It appears from an official statement issued by tho Jjoiuinion Government (sayn an Ottawa dispatch of Bth August), that it has been decided to abandon Hawaii aB a place for the landing of the Canadian and Australian Pacific Cable Tenders ace invited for soven difforont routes. Plan 1 invites tenders for tbe construction of a oablo to be the property of the Government, bat to be guaranteed by tho Construction Company. Plan 2 is for a cable to be run by a company undertaking co work under the basis of a oubsidy, the tender to stipulate tbe amount of the subsidy required, and tbe nnmbor of years for whioh it will bo operated. The third plan calls for a tender for the construction and operation of a oable for a stipulated share of the earnings, to be made by the companies tendering. The parties tendering aro asked in each case to tendor for seven different routes under tbe threo soparato plans mentioned, the Government to regulate the amount of the tolls to be charged by an Order-in-Council.
