The local Executivo of the Now Zealand Band Contest is concerned abont the nonarrival of the contest mnsia from Wright and Round, Liverpool, who advised on the 12th July as if tho musio had been despatched. It should come addressed to the Mayor of Inveroargill. Two mails despatched sinoe the date of Wright & Round's letter have arrived, but no musio. The weather, whioh has been damp and sunless for several weeks, shows signs of improving. There is a great deal of sickness in the town, mostly the effects of influenza, and the death rate is high, both old and young suooumbing. Two vessels start for sealing to-morrow. Dunedin, This Day, The Cromwell Tributers obtained 2040z gold from 198 tons stone. Auckland, This Day. The mission sohooner Southern Crosß started to-day for Norfolk Island.
