Strenuous efforts are being made to induce , Mr. Scobie Maokenzie to recede from the i position he has taken up, and to fight the ' Tuapeka seat against Mr. Larnach whether < Mr. Rawlina retires or not. Requiaitions ■ are in circulation in various parts of the ' electorate, and are being numerously aigned. Mr. Larnach speaks here to-night.
