At the adjourned meeting of the Masterton Lioensing Bench yesterday, the application for a license for the Marine Hotel at Whakataki was adjourned till the 29th, to permit of repairs being mode. An application for a re-hearing of the Star Hotel case was refused, but the Benoh eaid they would not be nnneoessarily hard on the present licensee. The quarterly sitting of the District Court will be held on Wednesday. Only two oases are sot down for hearing. A man. named Miohael Wheeler has been arrested at Palmerston North on a charge of larceny from the shop of W. Shaw here. At the adjourned meeting of the Horticultural and Industrial Society last evening, Messrs C. Butement and J. Tuoker were eleoted President and Vice-president, and Mr. T. Gillespie Seoretary. It is expeoted that the Masterton Hospital will benefit to the extent of .£2OO by the recent Hospital Ball.
