The British East Africa Company has withdrawn the offer to transfer ita rights to the Imperial Government, as the establishment of a British protectorate over Uganda enhanoes the value of the territory under the Company's oontrol. Sir E. Grey, Parliamentary Seoretary to the Foreign Offioe, says the British troops were not ordered to oooupy Wadelai. Latest. [BPECIAI..] (Received May 10, 10.10 a m.) Paris, 9th May. The Journal dcs Debate contends that the hoisting of the British flag at Wadelai is the first step to the conquest of the entire Nile Valley.
