With the viow of completing tho federation of tho Seamen's Unions throughout the world, delegates from Groat Britain and America recently arrived horo. Hitherto San Franoiaco's waa the on'y union standing out, but it has now de ided to come in. At a meeting of delegates it was decided to take joint aotion to enforce a minimum rate of wagea on Paoifio stearaors. Iho rates at present paid on the San Francisod and Canadian linos are - Seamen, JBS per moDth ; firemen, £1. Steps nro now being taken to obtain the old rates.
