IBrECIAI..J (Received April 9, 10.25 a.m.) London, Bth April. In the House of Commons, Mr. S. Woods, member for Ince, moved to abolish mining royalties, which, he said, had now reached annually. Mr. Asquith, Home Secrotary, said that if the proposal was adopted it would be necessary to acquire the mines, which wonld involve a capital expenditure of .£150,000.000. The motion was rojected on division by a majority of 107 votes.
