YACHTING INGRATITUDE. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir— l would like to ask, Is gratitude an unknown virtue amongst our local yachtsmen P On the night of the 13th inst., with a fresh northerly wind and a nasty sea, we picked up, adrift in the harbour, one of the ciack yachts (we think it was the Isca), and scoured her to one of our hulks, thus, in all probabily saving her from knocking her sides in on the Te Aro breastwork. Next morning, during the absence of the hnlk-keeper, she was taken away, presumably by her owners, and we have never had any acknowledgement from them. Possibly they think it beneath the dignity of gentlemen to offer thanks to Coalies.
