OUR FIRE BRIGADE.

« The Municipal Fire Brigodo held their annual social reunion at Bowie's Hall last evening, and aivantago was taken to present the trophies and prizoa won by members at the last competition. Abont 250 persons sat down -to an excellent tea, prosided over by_ the lady friends of members of the Brigade, after whioh the ceremony of pro- \ denting the prizes by Councillor Harris (Chairman of the Fire Frigado Committee) took place. Councillors Willeston ana Tatam were also present. Councillor Harris alluded to the high state of efficiency attained by the Brigade, and said that the oitizons of Wellington could retire with a feeling of seonrity, knowing that tho members of the Brigade, nndor the excellent leadership of Captain Kemsloy, could cope with almost any difficulty or danger. He then presented the prizes as follows:— Mr. H. D. Bell's prize and seven trophies, for being first in the Hose and Reel Flat Jtooe, Foreman Lawrence's team— Foreman L»wrenoe, Assistant Branohmen Dodaworth and Woodward. Firemen M'Whinny, C. Lott, H. S. Wooloott, jun., E, Rothorham; also, iflrst Hoae and Ladder Competition ; first prize, subscription prize and seven w°PjueB, and Mr. Kbhn'a reoord shield for tho highest aggregate number of points at tbe meeting. Foreman Woolcott'a team— foreman Wooloott, Branohman Webb, Hydrantmen Churoh and J. Jenkins; Firemen H. J. Jenkins, W.Jenkins, Sawtoll, and M«a^ alr T ii fiT st Combination Vehicle, Messrs. J. Nathan & Co.'s niokel tea and coffee service, and seven trophies ; second Hoae Reel Flat, seven silvor trophies. Lieut Adams team-Lieut. Adams. Adams' team as winners of the Surprise event at tho competition in that year. At the conclusion of the ceremony dancing was indulged in to music supplied by Mr. C. L. Hoffmann. Fireman H. Jenkins carried out the dnties of M.C. During the evening songs, musical selections, Ac, were given by Misses Woodward and Brown, Mesdames Tilloy, Williams, and Leonard, Master Woodward, Messrs. Watkina, Adams, E. Rotheram, Hoffmann, S. Webb, and Harvey.
