- 4 - In order to facilitate enrolment under the new Electoral Act, that of women especially, wo to-day issue with each copy of the Evening Post a form of application for enrolment. Every man or woman 21 years of age, being a natural-born or naturalised British subject, and who has resided twelve months in the colony and three months in the eleotoral district in which application is made, is entitled to the franchise. The first blank of the form should be filled up with the name of the eleotoral distriot—Wellington, Otalri, Suburbs of Wellington, Wairarapa, or Masterton, as the ease may be. In towns tho street, and, if possible, tho number of tho house, should be given on the second lino; and in country districts the local subdivision and such particulars of residence as will onablo the place to bo easily and clearly identified. Tho occupation or addition as described above must be written on the third line. The signature in full must bo made in tho presence of the Registrar, Deputy-Begistrar, Justice of tho Peace, Postmaster, or Postmistress, or an Elector of tho district whose name is already on the roll. Of course, in the present Case this must be a malo elector, as only malos have heretofore been registered as electors. Tho attesting witness must boo that the date and place are filled up, and sign on the lino before tho word "Registrar," striking out that word and tha other words below except "Elector of tho District," if it is in tho latter capacity he is signing. If the applicant is unable to write, the mark mado in lieu of signature must bo attested by a Justice of tho Peaco, Postmaster, or Registrar. An elector of the district is not sufficient in such case. The claim must then be sent by baud or post to tho Eegislrar of Electors for the district. Persons already on the roll nocd not re-register. Any person possessed ot a froehold of the valuo of .£25 in any electoral district may claim to be registered on freehold instead of on residential qualification if so desired. No name must, howover, appear in respect of either qualification on more than one roll in the colony. The following are the names and addresses of tho Registrars in and around Wellington to whom claims to vote in tho several districts must be sent :— Mastorton, F. H. Ibbotson, Masterton; Wairarapa, R. C. Black, Groytown ; Palmerston, W. jtfatravors, Palmerston North ; Otaki, Constable O'Rourke, Otaki ; Wellington and Suburbs of Wellington.. W. T. Wyatt, Government Insurance Buildings, Wellington. Claims forwarded through the post must bo stamped. They do not pass free.
