PASSENGERS DEVOURED BY SHARKS | UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. | (Received July 31, noon.) Sydnet. This Day. A China steamer brings details of the burning of the Spanish vessel Don Juan, which was subsequently towed into Manila, in the Philippine Islands. Ninety-eight of the passengers and orew were rescued. Many who climbed into the rigging lost their hold and fell into the names. A boat crowded with passengers was upset by the sharks which surrounded the vessel, and the occupants were devoured. The fire broke out amongst the kerosene portion of the cargo.
