♦ ] Louis Albert Sanderson, clmrged with the i murder of William W. J. Spreat, on the f Bth July, under circumstances which have i already been very fully reported, was brought up on remand at tho Magistrate's , Court to-day, before Mr. J. C. Mai tin, K.M., ' and Messrs. A. A. Barnott and F. H. ' Pickering, Justices. Inspector Ponder conducted the ca-e for the police, and Mr. C. P. Kkerrett appeared t for the defence. t The evidence was similar in effect to that which was brought out at the inquest. ; Ernest Valentine Sanderson, brother of ] the accused, under cross-examination by ] 4 1 r. Skerrett, produced a small dagger with which, he said, Spreat had on one occasion, somewhere about four years ago. ' obased tho Sanderson family upstairs, and • compelled them to lock themselves in : a room from which they afterwards escaped ' by the window. This incident led to the j family removing to aLother house. Spreat ' had never before struck witness or his J brother, but bad often threatened to do so. ' Tho case wa3 proceeding at the time of J going to press. •
