Sir Saul Samuel, Agent-General for Now South Wales, had an interview to-day with the Marquis of Ripon, Secretary for the Colonies, and Sir Edward Grey, Parliamentary Uudor-Sooretary for the Foreign Office, with reference to the olaims of the officers and orew and the owners of the Sydney-owned vessel Costa Rica Paoket, seized by the Dutch. He argued that the vessel, being a whaler, was unable to proceed without the captain, and therefore his detention by tho Dutoh iustified the claim for special loss. Sir Edward Grey has promised to reconsider the matter.
