The New Zealand Rughy team played 18 Seniors to-day Ellißon kicked off, and Gardner started a dribble, but a Queenslander upset him and came down with a great rush, whioh Gage stopped. A fine bit of passing on the part of Hcrrold, Harpor, and Wynyard removed the danger, and the ball went into touch. Iho local forwards kept up the attack, and Gago and Wilson stopped two great rushes. The.-o were followed by a Black rush, which ended in a touch in goal, the fine passing of the New Zoolanders evoking applanse. Ellison tried a goal from a mark, and Queensland was forced down. Harper, tho visitin<r three-quarter, was kicking in fine stylo, and relieved his'sido of a littlo danger, and then Murray, Cookroft, and Hiroa were prominent in a passing rush which Queensland stopped on tho line. Play continued in tho homo territory for a time, and a free kick being awarded to the M&orilanders, Harper potted a fine goal. This woke up tho home team, who rushed the ball into the visitors' twenty-five, and O'Shea nearly scored, being (topped by Shannon. Tho T.'sitiujf forwards, headed by Ellison, D'Arcy, and Gardnor, got on another passing rush, but Ivory stopped them. From this to tho end of the first spell the play was fast, but no further score was made. Skinner opened the second spell. A rush by the Blacks, in which Hiroa and D'Arey were to the front, was stooped by Ivory. In some looSo play whioh followed, Lamb'io and Cockroft wore prominent. Some very fast alternate forward rushes ended in O'Shea almost ecorincr, only being collaud by the visitors' full-back when near the line. Hiroa and Lambie cleared the line, but, Ivory winding np a dodgy run with a kick into touch, the New Zealondcra wero in danger, and the Whites continued to press them hard. For a time the p'ny was confined to the touchline, and here Harper was thrown and had bis shonldcr dislocated. He retired from the field mid the Qaeioslanders generously allowed Bayly to take his place. Some fine rushes by local men in the New Zealand territory wore woil stopped by Shannon. Then the scene of play was transferred to dangerously near the Queensland line. Tho local forwards broke through the visitors' line, and got on what was the finest passing ru-li of tho match, and were only "stopped when near the line by a pass forward. D'Aroy, Lambie, and Murray swept down the field and carried the ball across the lino, but Ivory saved a score. Play was confined to the homa territory, and Queensland forced down from a shot at goal by Wynyard. Shortly after resuming a free kick was given the Now Zea'andere, from which Wilson placed a fino goal. From this until time was called the ball was in local territory. The New Zealanders thus won by two goals to nil.
