In committee of thp House of Commons on the Home Rule Bill, clause 2. providing that " with tho exceptions and subject to the restrictions in this Act mentioned, there shall be granted to the Irish Legislature power to make laws for tho peace, ordor, and good government of Ireland in respect of matters exclusively relating to Ireland or somo part thereof," was carried There was much disorder during the debate. Further consideration of the measure was adjourned until 30th May. The discontent at the want of firmness shown in Mr. Mellor, Chairman of Committees, is increasing on all sides.
