Donedin, 2nd January. Tho Caledonian sports were the chief attraction in town, and from 7000 to 8000 must have attended, and .£250 was taken at the gates. M. Powley must win the wrestling, as ho succeeded in two out of the three Btyles. R. Powley being second in the Border and K. M'Kane in the Cornish. The Five Mile Bicycle Race was won by Stedm&u (scratch), Emmerson second ; time, 15min 19isec. The Mile Bicycle Race was won by K. M'Kenzie, 100 yds, with Stodman third. The Caledonian Handicap, 350 yds, wag won by A. H. Holder (Wanganui),, ' with syda start ; tho Mjlo Handicap by N. Q. Binnje, syds, }n 4min 3?soo ; the 120 yds Hurdles by Watts (Feiiaing), Hqldop (Wanganul) socond ; and the Amateur Handicap, 120 yds, by Cuawshaw. Oaharu, This Day. The Caledonian games yesterday wero largely attended, there boing 500 more than the first day of last yoar. The Society had givon £7& for bicycling, and the entries wore large and the contests most exciting. So fat 1 the Victorians have won nothing. Grave won the one-mile and two-mile bicycle races, and Clarkaon the throe-miles. MoKoohnio was the most suoocssful oompotitor in the dancing and bagpipo mime. Invercargill, This Day. The weather was glorious for the holiday, and tho attendance at tho Calodonian games yesterday was about COOO, and the gatemonoy amounted to .£205.
