The barque Essex, from No<v York, Cnptnin Shaube, arrivad in harbour at 8.30 this morning, nfter a passage of 1H days. The run from New York to Cape of Qood Hope was accomplished in 57 days, aud from there to the meridian of Mauritius occupied three weeks, owing to light winds accompanied with thunder and lightning. Heavy weather was met off the Snares for nine days. Sho arrived off the Heads at 4 pm yesterday, but owing to thick weather, stood off again, arriving as above. Her cargo for Wellington consists of 792 tons, the balance, about 300 tons, beiug for Auckland. Sho was berthed at the Queen's Wharf this morning, and commences discharging on Monday.
