General Carnes commanded the attacking party, who mot and defeated tho miners, and rescuod Colonel Anderson. Many were killed on both sides. Seven of the railway companies are now involved in the strike in Buffalo, including all Vanderbilt's lines. 21st Augnst. Tho American press assort that labour is losing confidence in tho Government.
