Addresses J wore also given by Professor AY. C. Walker and Profossor C. Bovan Brown. Tho proceedings were vory orderly. Tho local songs | sung by the fatudonts were moro than usually . witty and well written. Tho attondanco of - ladies and other visitors was largo. Auckland, 19lh August, i At the presentation of diplomas at the t University buildings this afternoon tho students sang tho '" Gaudcamurs" before the professors arrived. Sir G. Maurice \ O'Rorke, on taking tho chair, called for \ silence, and thoy subsided. Diplomas wore " presented to tho following graduates : — D. ¦" H. Jackson, M.A. ; R. C. Horton, 8.A. ; C. 1'! } Major, B.A. After tho presentation, Sir v Maurico O'Korko called upon Profossor i Thomas to give an address. Tho students » startod a song, " Tho College by tho Sea," to • the tune of " Killaloe." Sir Maurice called , for silence and order in vain, and after . stating to the students that they had dis- - graced thomselvos, ho declared the meoting » over and retired from tho hall, followed by s tho whole of tho professor. The students t wont on with their programme to the bitter , end, accompanied by a cornot. It comprised - also "Tho iiong of tho Bold Undergrads " . "Our Gown," and for a neat finish the 1 National Anthem. Most of tho spectators stopped to see the fun through.
