+ THEIR SUPPOSED ANNEXATION BY FRANCE. | SPECIAL. | (Received August 19, 11 a.m.) London. 18th August. Both the Foreign and the Colonial Offices assert that they aro unaware of the supposed annexation of St. Paul and Amsterdam Islands by France. The Admiralty consider that the islands are important for strategic purposes, but useless as harbours.
