FOOTBALL.
The Management Committee of the Bugby Union mot last night, Mr. G. Fache prosiding. The Manawatu Rugby Union wrote stating that it had decided to send a Senior representative team to Wellington, and suggesting the 17th September as a suitable date for the match, also mentioning that a Junior " rep." team would be sent down. It was decided to reply suggesting that both matches should be played on the 10th September. A motion by Mr. E. Liddle, that the visitors should be allowed 15 per cent of the net takings at the gates on the day of the match, was lost. His Excpllency tho Governor has accorded his patronage to the Bugby Union, and hopes to be present with Lady Glasgow at the mterprovincial match botween Canterbury and Wellington. A charge will be made for admission to the match, and boys' tickets will be sold at 6d each. The Junior representative trial teams havo been allowed the use of No. 1 ground at Newtown Park next Saturday until 3.45, when the Seniors will commence a practice game. The Association players will have the use of No. 2 ground. Owing to the wet weather yesterday, the annual matoh between the Wellington and St. Patrick's Colleges was not played. The Council of the Wellington Football Association met hist night at the Waverley Hotel. Mr. A. E. Gibbes occupied the chair. The Secretary informed the meeting that arrangements were complete for the sending away of the Feilding-Wanganui team on Friday. Ab regards the Christehurch team, it was agreed that the men shall meet at the Waverley Hotel on Monday night next, at 8 o'clock, to eleot a captain and pay up passage money, &o. On Saturday next tho Christchurch team will play a friendly game with the Wellington F.C. on the Park.
