On the motion of Councillor Harris, seconded by Councillor Froser, tho report was adopted. 1 Tho City E«6orves Committee reported ' that matters in connection with the filling iv 9 of the boat harbour, tho alteration of the Harbour Board's weighbridge, &c, had been incorporated in a Bill to bo presented to Parliament. Tho Committeo had farther considered the question of providing a sito for the Wollington Naval s. It was now proposed to erect tho weighbridge and house fox same on tho edge of tho roadway several feet further north than was at first intended. This would leave a frontage of 76ft between tho weighbridge and the land held' by tho Star Boating Club ; and the Committee recommended that a lease of half tho e&mo be granted to tho Navals, at a rent of £10 per annum. This wonld leave 3Sft frontage for the fish market, next the weighbridge, which [ tho Committee thought quite sufficient for the purpose. Tho Committee recommended . that Tuesday, the 2nd of August, be fixed fot the salo of reclaimed land leases, and that ! the cost of advertising do not oxoeed .£IOO. J That sanction bo given to tho transfer of tho lcaso of section 7, block 8, Pahiatua, from G. Gardner to Mrs. Bly ; also, to the trans- . for of the lease of section 45, Town Belt, ' from Mr. H. B. A. Duncan to the Trustees of the Benevolent Institute. That tenders bo s invited for the lease of section A. Town Belt. , That repairs be executed at tho house ocou- ' piod by the police officer at tho Botanic Gardens, tho cost of name not to exceed .£lO. That the Kugby Football Union bo allowed tho exclusive use of Newtown Park on threo Saturday afternoons during tho football season. Councillor Wilieston moved the adoption of tho report. Councillor Fraser seconded tho resolution. After some discussion it was decided to refer clause 3, regarding the sale of reclaimed land leases, back to the committee, and to hold a spcoial meeting of tho Council to consider the matter. The other clauses of tho report were adopted. Tho report of the Public Works Committee, which has already been published, wan adopted. Auctioneer's licenses were granted to Messrs. J. P. Murphy and S. Soloman. Acoonnts amounting to .£752 18s 5d wero passed for payment.
