Kvkniko Post Office Friday Afternoon Fbkbhak R. Jackson & Co. report as follows :— Fnt cattle at Johnsonvillo on Wednesday, in fewer numbors, were of good quality throughout. Ox boot made 17s per 1001b. Sheep iv average supply ; prime wethers, 16s to 17s 6d ; others, 13s lid to 15s 9d ; fat ewes, 14s to 14s 6d. No pigs to hand. PRODUCE REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agoucy Company (Limited) report on the produce markets for the weok ending Wednesday, 15th J une, ns follows :—: — SheepsTtins.— Supplies coming forward dnring the week have been smaller than usual, and iusnffloiont for trade requirements. " Freezers " are in keen request, and all lines submitted were olearod at lato rates. We quote— Green crossbreds, medium to heavy, 3s JOd to 4s 8d ; country skins, 4d to s}d per pound. It is not out of place here to draw the attention of farmersand bntchprs to the great want of attention shown in preserving thoir skins after flaying, and to the indifferent ¦manner in which they are flayed; it may be pointod out that cuts in the body of the pelt detract from its (the pelt's) value from 6d upwards, and exposure, which porishes tho pelt, will, of course, render it completely valueless. Tallow and Fat— The London market continues dull, althongh prices show no material alteration. Locally, the quantity arriving is not excessive, and we have no difficulty in quitting consignments at good value. Wo quote — Inferior to good, 16s to" IDs ; rough fat, 12s to 13s per cwt. Hides.— Heavy hides, in good condition, are enquired for, and large quantities could be quitted at full rates. Light and damaged are in plentiful supply, but there is not much demand for these descriptions. Oats continue in steady request at nn advance on lato rates, and sales have been offected at Is lid to 28 Id, according to quality. In tho South there is a keen demand both for shipping orders and speculation, and rates have hardened considerably. Tbe estimated quantity on hand iv Otago and Southland shows a very heavy decrease as compared with last year, and thoro appears every prospect of higher rates ju ling. Wheat. — Whole fowls' wheat meets with fair enquiry at 2s 9d to 3s, according to quality, and sales are reported at these prices. Hemp. — We are pleased to report that there is considerably more enquiry for all descriptions of hemp, and prices offered by operators are nearer sellers' ideas of valuos than they havo been for some time past. Several sales of store parcels are reported at £15 to £15 15s, according to quality. London market appears somewhat more lively, althongh prices show very littlo improvement. Frozen Meat (London office cable). — " Beef market dull; fore and hind-quarters ore worth 2M and 3\d per pound respectively. Quotations nominal. Mutton market quiet. Wellington is worth 3Jd and Canterbury 4}d per pound. Lamb market quiet. Quotations unchanged since last r .sport."
