The Masterton Borough Liconsjng Bench .■yesterday refused to grant the licenso for tho Star Hotel to E. J. Searlo, and adjourned 'till the 28th inst. to enable a frosh applica•iion to bo mado. Paiiiatua, This Day. Tho Town Licensing Committoo met on Monday and granted renewals to Weir's Club Hotel, Sullivan's Commercial Ilotol, and Buckeridge's Union Hotel. They granted a now liconso to J. Spillano for a hotel to bo called tho Empire. Tho committee adjourned till last ovening to consider tho application of T. Cotter for a new liconso for a house to bo called tho Occidental. They ultimately refused tho application on tho ground that tho house was not suitable. Tho County Licensing Committeo met yesterday and refused to grant any fresh liocnaod.
