TWO DISTRICTS WITHOUT HOTELS. By Telegraph.] [united press association. I Dunedin, 6th June. The Maori Hill Licensing Committee today refused to grant the only liconso in the district, and the KosJvn Licensing Committee also refused tho only application in tho district, which is now without a hotel. Tho grounds in both cases wore that the houses were not required. One licensee complained that at the suggestion of a former committee he had spent about £6QO in enlarging his promisos. fOii/r Own Correspondent. J Masteeton. This Day. At the annual sitting of tho Masterton Borough Liconsing Bench to-day, renowals of licensos wore granted to the licensees of the Royal, Empire. Club. Prince of Wales, and Occidental hotels. The applications for extension of hour 3 to 11 o'clock wero rofused. The application of E. J. Searl for a license for tho Star Hotel, which was strongly opposed by the polico, is now being considered.
