FOOTBALL.
Tho Poneke and Athletic Clubs played a scratch game at Newtown Park on Saturday, and after a very pleasant game, in which very good form was shown by several of tho players, resulted in a draw, neither side scoring. Gage, Caradus, Fraser, and Murphy (backs), Medley, White, and Severne (forwards) played well. A Bcratch game was indulged in by members of tho Melroso Club, sides being chosen by tho Captain and Vice-Captain. \V. the Ponoke threequartor, had the misfortune to split his right hand rather sovorely whilst playing in the AlhleticPonoko match on Saturday. The Diamond Club played the Star Club, and defeated their opponents by fivo points to nil. For the victors Isherwood, Morrison Winter, Skinner, and Howe played well, and Darmody, White, and M'Gonigal for the losers.
