In tho engagements 600 of the rebels were killed and 400 taken prisoners. On the Portuguese side eleven men were killod and 31 wounded. Zanzibar, 13th March. The report that Colonel Rogers had been defeated at Witu is not true. So far from suffering a reverse, he inflioted a severe defeat on the rebel natives.
