"NO PLACE LIKE HOME." [By Telegraph.] [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
. Auckland. 24th Novembor. The steamer Wairarapa, which arrived to-day from'Sydnoy, brought 367 passengers, 137 of whom aro for Auckland, and the remainder for the South. Amongst thoso -who returned were a number of old ex-Auck-landers, including somo mechanics who have evidently found fifo in Australia loss profitable than they had first imagined it to be. News from Australia says that many exNew Zealandors are walking the streets of Sydnoy and Melbourne without work, or provided with only occasional employment at miserable wages.
