This course was rer dered neoessary owing to the withdrawal c tho Roseneath Club from tho oompntitioi The fixtures are as follows :— Surrey i Sydenham on the 16th mat., and Carlton t play the winner of the first heat on the 23rd The sonior team of the Ponekc Club hay engaged to play a matoh with the Palmerßto North Club on tbe 25th (Queen's Birthday and the Excelsior Club of that townshi purpoae ooming down to play the Rngb Clnb of Wellington. The Melrose firat fifteen will in all prob: bility proceed to Maßterton, and play matoh with the Red Stir Club on tho sam day, tbo second fifteen going as far 1 Groytown, to compete a?ain*t the Greytow Fire Brigade team.
