It contained four scutchers, steam screw, a Lester press, and a ten-horae-posver engine. About two tons of flax ready for the market was also destroyed. The damage is estimated at fully £1000, and as there ia no insurance much sympathy is felt for the owners, who have run their mill in the face of bad times in the trade. Abont 39 hands will be thrown out of employment, but Mr. Tringham, who is at present in Featherston, informs mo that the mill will be got to work again as soon as possible. No cause can be assigned for the outbreak, but it is supposed that a spark from the engine ignited the tow. J
