The Constitutional Committee of the National Convention han been sitting all day, and will probably ait all night considering the draft Bill, whioh it is expeoted they will have reudy when the Convention meet* to morrow afternoon. Mr. J. M. Mairossan, one of the Queensland delegates to the National Convention, died to-uight. He had been ailinir for some time back, and attended the Convention against the advioe of his medical advisers. [The Hon. J. M Macrossan was born in County Donegal. Ireland, in 1832 He spent some years in Victoria as a miner, and in 1865 went to North Queensland, where he pursued the sime avocation. He wae a warm supporter of the Federal movement, and of the movement for the separation of North Queensland. Had he lived he would have, in the event of separation, beon in all probability tho first Premier of that colony. ; He oooupied the position of Minister for Mines in the recent Morehead Government ]
