l [ A deputation, representing Central Queens- > land, waited on Lord Knutsford to-day. One , ( of the speakers admitted that Sir 8. Griffith's \ i proposals, recently laid before the Colonial ( , Parliament, would satisfy the inhabitants if they were likely to be oarried, but another L ' I dissented. Sir F. Archer and Sir S. Wilson . advocated separation. Lord Knutsford re- \ plied that the question was not yet ripe for [ settlement pending the arrival of the Governor, Sir H. Norman, and soma action \ on the part of the Queensland Parliament to make provision for payment of the colonial I debt. He suggested that a scheme should , , be prepared whioh would satisfy the bondr holders.
