HOME LESSONS. TO THE EDITOR.

Sib — I am glad to sco you are again culling attention to some of the weak spots in our education system. They oannot be too persistently exposed. You refer to boys and girls porirur over home lessons by candle or gaslig-ht, and the injury that rosults to the eyesight and in other ways. There is no doubt of it— home lessons are an abomination. But what are parents who disapprove of it to do? If the children do not perform thenr home tasks they aro punished. Is the_e no reinody for this state of affairs ? Mu6fc home lessons be forced on our children ag-inst our wishes, and in defiance of the lav« s of health P It is quito time too that parents were prevented from sending their children to school at too early an age.
