Abbott s case of cruelly ill-treating Esthor Powditoh occupied tho Supreme Court all day. Mr. Bickerton Fisher's address to the jury took two hours, an<! the Crown Proseoutor'a 55 minutos. His Honour summed np at length. Thojaryrotiredfortwo hours. and on returning into Court the foreman said tho jury found both prisonors Not Guilty of depriving her of food, whereby ior life was ondangorod, but Guilty on a'l tho othor countH, viz., oudangoring her health by doprirnl of neoesoary food, general cruelty, assaulting, boating, &o. They recommendod tho fornalo prisoner, who ie approaching hor confinement, to moroy. His Honour inadono comment, inorely remarking that he would pronounce aontenoe on Monday. Tho sossions closed with T. H. Bogers and G. H. Cook receiving 18 months for broaking into Alpe's tobacconist shop, and fitoaling therotrotn a quantity of tobacco, cigars, Ao. Thi* has been tho longest Beßuion for 27 yoavo, excepting tho spocial Tom Hall caaon.
