The Volunteers.

The mnstor at the weekly parade of tho D Battery last evening was a good one. After the men had been inspected, thoy wore taken inhand by Sergeant B. Robinson, who put them through bi.sr gun drill. On Saturday noxt, the trained men of Nos. 1 and 2 detachments will take part in their first period of olass-flriiig. As thoro is a Government parade in the afternoon, there will only be one squad, viz., ono at 5 a.m. An inspection of the Petone Navals wns made last evening by Sergeant-Major Bell. , The muster was an excellent one, 69 of all ranks being present under LieutenantCommander Davy and Sub-Lieutenants

Davis aud Kirk. Tho mon woro put through a number of manoeuvres outside the railway station. The now range of tho Petone Navals at the mouth of the river is completed.
