♦ |Bt Telkgraph.l (Our Own Correspondent.) Havelock, This Dat. Notwithstanding the inolemenoy of the weather, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by hia Private Secretary, rode over from Nelaon, via the Maungatapu, yesterday, and was met at Canvaatown by a cavalcade of horsemen. On entering Havelock, whioh was gaily decorated tor the occasion, a procession was formed, and on reaohing the Town Hall addresses were presented from ths Ravelock and Pelorus Road Board, the Masonic body, and the Foresters, to which His Kzcollenoy replied. In the evening a banquet was given, Mr. Milh being in the chair and Mr. Reynolds ia the vice-chair. The banquet was largely attended, and was a great success. Tho Governor, in an eloquent speech, in reply to the toast of his health, thanked the inhabitants heartily for their great hospitality and their loyalty to the Crown, and expressed regret that Lady Onslow oonld not accompany him. His Excellency returns to Nelson to-day, via the Kai Valley.
