The Volunteers.

The Government havo decided to inorease the Volunteer capitation for all arms to £2, and it is possiblo that a still further inoreaso may be decided upon. As advertised on Saturday, the City Rifles will parade for company drill this ovening at the Volunteer Drillshed at half-past 7. After parado, winners of prizos in the trophy matoh will be allowod to select their prizes in order of merit. The oommittee will select for absenteos. Among the trophies exhibited on Satnrday and to-day in Messrs. Hislop A Co.'s window are those won by the City Rifles during the post season, which attracted great attention. A very handsome vase, which fell to the lot of Volunteer Moore as an aggregate prize, was much admired, as was also the Bilver medal manufactured by Higlop A Co. to the order of Mossre. Cato, Atkinson, Boddington and Wilson, who presented it as a special prize for tho highest aggregate soorer at the annual meeting, and was won by Volunteer M'Gregor. Tho presentation of prizes will take place at the Exchange Hall on Thursday evening next.
