Blenheim, 11th May. .A matoh took place to-day between F. Gaukrodger, a_ well-known Marlborongh pod, and J. Bain, a spniit ranuer hailing from Canterbury and Otago ; distances, 100, 220, and 440 yards, for .£2O aside. Bain won the 100 yards by about half a yard, but Gaukrodger ran clean away from him in the other two events.
