THE VICTORIAN ELECTIONS. MORE TRAMWAY FRAUDS. SCIENTISTS REWARDED. [united pebss association.! Melbotjbnb. 28th March. Among those who were returned in the elections which took place to-day were Mr. Gillies (Premier), Mr. Derham (PostmasterGeneral), Mr. Deakin (Chief Secretary), Mr. Nimnio (Commissioner of Pnblio Works), and Mr. Buut (ox-leader of tho Opposition). Mr. Gaunson was amongst those defeatod. Brisbane, 28th March. Tramway frauds, similar to thoßO in Sydney, have been discovered, and one conduotor has been arrested in consequence. It is believed the Government have been defrauded of as much as £10,000 a year. The Government have presented M.M. Germont and Loir, M. Paß tour's representatives, with an honorarium of £500 each in recognition of their successful cultivation by artificial means of the virus of pleuropneumonia.
