The Volunteers.
♦ The Newtown Rifles fired their fourth matoh for Mr. H. Hall's trophies on Saturday morning at the Polhill Gully Range. The ranges were 300, 500, and 600; seven Bhota at each distance. On referring to the scores below, it will be Been that Private Elliott gained his first " leg in " for A Class trophy, with a fair score of 70 points, while Private F. France again came to the front for B Class. It is to be regretted that the attendance was bo very meagre in B Class, as the prize is well worth winning. Appended are the scores : —
