Accidents and Fatalities.
(By Telkqbaph.] [united peeßß association.] Auckland, 18th January. A man named Archibald M'Allister, foreman of the contract for the construction of the Helensville-Kaukapakapa railway line, was_ killed to-day. He was in charge of an engine which was running to a gravel-pit with a number of tracks. For some reason which cannot be explained, M' Alister jumped off the engine and fell backward, the trucks passing over him and causing his death. The unfortunate man was 50 years of age, and, as far as is known, was single.
