Fire in Masterton.

[Bt Telegraph. 1 (Our Own Correspondent.) Mabterton, This Day. A firo broke out in a cottage in Cricketstreet, occupied by Mr. A. S. Dreyer, at 10 this morning, and the building being very dry was all ablaze in a few moments. Mr. Dreyer. who is an invalid, was carried out. The Volunteer Brigade could do nothing owing to the want of hose, and the Municipal Brigade were ao long getting to work that they were only useful to prevent the spread of the fire. Even that work was delayed by the hose bursting. The building was completely burnt, and an adjoining cottage seriously damaged. The building destroyed was worth about .£l5O, and the damage done to the other was about .£SO. Both were owned by Mr. Daniel Jobberns, of Wellington, where they are supposed to be insured.
