I UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. I (Received January 18, 12.30 p.m.) London, 17th January. Letters received from the Congo report that Tippo Tib had refused to accompany the Stanley expedition on their return inarch to Emm Bey. Intelligence has been received from Singapore that the steamer Shyapekec had sprung a leak and the. vessel commenced to settle down, ultimately foundering. Forty of the crew were drowned.
