SIR — Several members of the Honourable Craft of the Ordor of St. Crispin have demurred, and taken exception to, in fact gone so far as to ohargo the nndersigned with adopting what is commonly called the " Sweating " system in their trade. However, that maybe so, or otherwise. What is it to do with their business, so long as the people concerned are satisfied ? The publio are the best judges, and their verdiot is that J. W. Riokmon is the people's man for Boots and Shoes in the nineteenth century. Never before in the annals of New Zealand has a long-suffering publio had their Boots and Shoes mended for nothing. — J. W.
