Wanoanui, This Day. A few minutes after 5 this morning a prisoner namod Georgo Millar, on committal for stealing hides, escaped from Wan (fan vi Gaol. Ho was acting cook in tho establishment, and had been called to light the fire. He got through tho grating abovo tho small yard attaohed to the kitohen. and had about ten minntos' start of the warder. The hunt was commenced, and at 11 o'olock one of the warders unexpectedly landod on him about five miloß from tho gaol, and by 12.30 the prisoner was safe in hi* oell again. This is the socond osoape from this gaol, though tho builriiug iB quite new find supposed to bo built according to tho latest designs.
