The Navals Shooting Tournament.
Tho various Naval corps in the oolony engaded in a shooting tournament thm morning, each corps firing on it* own ground. The conditions of the competition are ten men a-side; ranges, 200, 300, and 500 yds; seven shots at each. The Wellington Navala fired at the Polhill Gully range at 430 this morning. The weather waa anything but favourable, a cold south-easter blowing, accompanied by frequent showers of hail and rain. Notwith* standing this faot some good shooting was made, the total of the team being 681. The beat individual score was that of Sea* man Baloombe, who made 81 out of a possible 105. The totals at each range were as follows :-200yds, 2-4; 300 yds, 227; 500 yds, 168. The referees were Captain Collins, of the City Rifles, who was at the firing point, and Private Aamodt, of the Guards, who was in the mantlet. The individual scores of the Wellington team will be published on Monday.
