[united pukss association.] Bi.bnhbim, This Day. Mr. Dodaon, M.H.R., who has a large orohard and hop gardens hero, has been very successful in devising a moans of killing codlin moths. In tho spring ho syringed ' with Paris green, and saw nothing of tho pest till about Christmas, when he BUBpeoted that moths from a neighbouring orohard invaded his. He then tied bags around the trunks and limbs. These are taken off once a weok, the caterpillars are killed, and the bags again tied on. Mr. Dodson thinks this simple plan would prove effectual if the orohard distriots in tho same neighbourhood ■were to adopt it. It has the merit of cheapness, at all events. Mr. Stenhouse has just taken out an extension of his patent for fourteen years for Stenhouße and Smith's rabbit exterminator, which tho patentee is quite confident will yet come into general use. He intends sending Bomo of the exterminators to the Melbourne Exhibition.
